Circular Economy & Biomass Utilization
A&V WOOD applies circular economy principles by utilizing wood residues and
by-products from forestry operations, wood processing and land management
activities.
Instead of being discarded or underutilized, these materials are transformed into
biomass fuels, wood chips and industrial products, contributing to reduced waste,
lower environmental impact and increased resource efficiency.
Forestry Residues & Land Management
We support sustainable land and forest management practices through the utilization
of forestry residues generated from forest maintenance, land clearing and fire
prevention activities.
By valorizing these materials, including residues associated with national and
regional forest protection initiatives, we contribute to improved forest health,
reduced fire risk and the production of renewable energy resources.
Alignment with Greece`s Anti-Nero Program
A&V WOOD’s forest and biomass management activities are fully aligned
with the objectives of Greece’s national Anti-NERO fire prevention program.
By reducing combustible forest biomass, supporting systematic land
clearing, and responsibly utilizing forestry residues, we contribute
to the prevention of large-scale wildfires and the protection of
natural ecosystems.
Our operations support the same principles promoted by the Anti-NERO
initiative: prevention, resilience, and sustainable forest management.
Responsible Raw Material Sourcing
Raw material sourcing at A&V WOOD follows strict criteria of legality, traceability
and environmental responsibility. We collaborate with certified suppliers,
forestry operators and industrial partners to ensure compliance with applicable
environmental and regulatory standards.
Energy Efficiency & Industrial Responsibility
Our facilities are designed to operate with an industrial efficiency mindset,
focusing on optimized production processes, controlled energy consumption and
continuous improvement of operational performance.
Biomass utilization plays a key role in supporting renewable energy generation
and reducing reliance on fossil fuels within industrial applications.
Environmentally Responsible Lubrication
Our equipment operates exclusively with biodegradable hydraulic oils (EAL – Bio Oil), in full compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications for the Palfinger crane. This practice significantly reduces environmental risk in the event of leakage.
Although biodegradable hydraulic oils are significantly more expensive than conventional alternatives, this choice reflects our commitment to environmental protection and responsible industrial operation.
